Following the statement:
ReplyDeletesudo dpkg -i omxplayer_0.0.1-arm.deb
I get the error message
"..package architecture (armel) does not match system (armhf)"
Is this because I am using the hard float version of the operating system?
Regards Trev
I'm not that familiar with Hard Float versions. I used this version of Debian at the time of writing the omxplayer tutorial.

I had the same problem with the 2012-09-18-wheezy-raspbian image. Please go to http://omxplayer.sconde.net/ , where you can obtain the download link of the player version which will not give an error. The error message is also explained clearly, by the way. After a half hour, I was able to play a video by running the player. Now I will tackle the issue of displaying subtitles. Good luck to all. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Brianhensto ley,
ReplyDeleteI'm an electronics Technician in Barcelona and surfing on the net I found your site. Congratulations!
I'm happy to know that God and family is so important for you. For me too.
I can see you know quite well electronics and Raspi. So my question is
have you found a good design to isolate Raspi GPIO inputs and outputs? Searching on the net I've found a lot of confusing information and very poor designs (not yours :-) ). I was planning use a 4n25 opto with a BC337 transistor with common emiter. But actually I'm not sure of the best design. Can you give me a tip?
Best regards,
